Description

Brasserie Dupont is an old farm whose origins date back to 1759. In 1844 it became the Rimaux-Derrider-Bauernbrauerei, specializing in the production of honey beer and season beer. This name comes from the fact that breweries produced this type of beer in winter for consumption in the fields in summer. In 1920 the agronomist Louis Dupont planned to buy a farm in Canada. In order to dissuade him, his father Alfred Dupont bought him this farmer's brewery. Louis Dupont then revisited the basic season recipe now known as Season Dupont. In 1942 Sylva Rosier left Aalst to settle in Tourpes and work with her uncle. In 1945 Louis Dupont sold the Brasserie Dupont to his nephew Sylva Rosier, a brewing engineer and consulting engineer in Belgium and abroad. After the Second World War, Pilsner beers were very popular. Many small Belgian breweries have disappeared because they could not meet this demand. It is Sylva Rosier's dynamism and technical knowledge that enable the production of Redor Pilsner and ensure the survival of the Dupont brewery. Two of his children, Claude, Marc and Ghislaine, got involved in the business. His daughter Claude, with whom he developed the "Rola" laboratory, which provides analyzes of the brewery and the malt house for Tourpes, but also for many external companies. His son Marc works with his father on the development of certain projects. In 1990 Marc Rosier was recognized as a Belgian pioneer for organic beers * with the Moinette Biologique * and the Saison Biologique *. In the 1990s and early 2000s, the range was further expanded with organic honey beer *, Biolégère * and Bio-Blanche du Hainaut *. Our sales remained local for a long time, producing around 4,000 hl by 1986, the year of Belgian beer, which allowed many consumers to discover our products. The regular export of our beers only began in 1992. Since 2003, production has developed significantly and in 2019 exceeded 30,000 hl. In order to do justice to this growth, we regularly invest in additional production facilities and in the expansion of the production rooms. Our philosophy is to get the most out of the tool while maintaining traditional manufacturing processes. History of our brewery.
