Beer description
Aroma is sweet, flowery/candy-like, hoppy. Pours golden with a nice, big, foamy head. Neat lacing and good retention. Taste: generally sweet, there’s plenty of caramel, some breadiness and rye, solid malty background. Aside from that there’s mild tropical fruitiness, a bit like mango, maybe some peach. Ends with forest-like/resiny and a bit of grapefruit. The aftertaste is long, mildly bitter, refreshingly herbal. As expected of a rye beer, it’s thick and oily, a quality I really love about them. Nearing the end bitterness gets a bit too herbal for my taste, and the beer gets somewhat less drinkable. Still, a neat brew.
