Beer description
It is an old Belgian practice to flavor top-fermented beers made from barley and wheat with orange peel. The classic among these beers is the slightly cloudy and very refreshing Witbier/Bière blanche from Flanders. The Weyermann® adaptation of this traditional beer creation is the orange-colored and mildly sweet No. 55. The wonderful combination of Weyermann® barley, caramel and wheat malts creates the delicious "Orange Summer", with an alcohol content of 4.5% by volume, which is pleasant for summer. From the onset to the finish, this recent beer convinces with its dominant orange aromas and a distinct orange flavor. On the palate it is soft with a hint of toffee. This makes it suitable also as an iced aperitif.
