Weyermann® - 17 - Eraclea Mediterranean Pilsner

The malt base for this bright golden Pilsner is the Mediterranean malting barley Eraclea. It is grown along the northern coast of the Adriatic Sea between Venice and Trieste and gives the beer a full-bodied yet palatable, delicate malt flavor. The Aurora and Bobek hop varieties from neighboring Slovenia, which are also Mediterranean, are a perfect match. They contribute subtle floral aromas such as lavender and violet, as well as a hint of dark berries (blackcurrant) to the beer's flavor. In addition, these hops give the beer an intense but pleasantly harmonious bitterness that is very typical of Pilsner and lingers well into the aftertaste. This Pilsner is tangy, lively and refreshing, inviting you to keep drinking.
