Beer description
Our first-ever step mash, a unique method in the brew process which helps activate different enzymes and gives us a better mouthfeel, led to 100% barrel fermentation in third use bourbon barrels leaving no residual bourbon character. Belgian base malt with all specialty malt locally sourced just a few hours away. Noble-esque hops from Michigan and a light dry hop in Styrian Golding. Bottle conditioned with brettanomyces at four volumes.
Val d'Or is both bold and delicate. It is a labor of love and this beer is a symbol to remind the SOB family, our supporters, and our friends that all of this truly is a golden valley.
