We seem to have forgotten what style and taste are. We have been totally corrupted by the craft revolution, with its snobbish disregard for the good old classics, with its clattering bars made of acorns and pine branches, filled like a fool's pockets with wrappers, multi-coloured cans and bottles. We began to forget what it was like to go to a bar to watch a match and have a couple of litres of simple lager, or how nice it was to sink into an endless leather sofa and have a leisurely conversation over a pint of stout. Maybe it's for the best that things have changed so much, progress doesn't stand still, but if from time to time you get a pang of nostalgia for the old days, don't keep it to yourself. Share it with those who understand what it feels like. You'll quickly find them - they'll be holding a bottle of Tweed Club Rye Imperial. You can consider it a kind of cultural marker, a distinctive sign of "friend or foe", because people with exceptionally good taste and the right upbringing can enjoy a classic imperial stout with a palpable, spicy note of rye malt. This is not a smoothie, for God's sake.....
