The precursor to the Stout, this beer was typically drank by London's working class, or street porters starting in the early 18th century. Featuring dark roasted malts reminiscent of the flavor of nuts, chocolate, and toasted bread, this robust beer is surprisingly quaffable, although never intended for London's "polite Society."
