Beer description
The history of Strong Ale dates back to earlier times when beer was brewed in oak containers that couldn't be heated with an open fire. In those days, the brew was heated and boiled by adding hot stones from the hearth.
This method resulted in a unique flavour of caramel and light smoke due to the burning on the surface of the stones.
At Thisted Bryghus, we achieve the same flavour development by heating lava stones to 800 degrees Celsius and lowering them into the sweet beer wort.
Strong Ale is a full-bodied and warming beer that goes perfectly with stronger, hot dishes.
Recommended serving temperature 8-10˚C.
