Beer description
Limfjordsporter Lakrids is a so-called ‘Baltic Porter’, i.e. a bottom-fermented strong porter of 7.9% alcohol. Ever since Peter Klemensen declared the original Limfjordsporter finished in 1989, this iconic porter has been characterised by roasted and smoky flavours from the malt, as well as a lovely taste of English liquorice.
For the Nordic Brew Festival in 2014, when the Limfjordsporter celebrated its 25th anniversary, the former and current brewmaster developed a festival version of Limfjordsporter with about 20 times the liquorice content of the original. In 2015, it was released in a bottled version called Limfjordsporter Lakrids, where the liquorice content has been adjusted down to 16.66 times the original content of the Limfjordsporter.
The liquorice content in this jet black porter is so high that the label warns against consuming more than 2-3 bottles at a time.
Recommended serving temperature 8-14°C
