Barley roast, chocolate and crystal malt give the beer a deep, deep, ruby red color and a sweet mocha and toast flavor. Some oats in the mash provide smoothness and the late Fuggles hops provide a resinous balance. It fermented quite dry and the end result is a sturdy, powerful and smooth beer that should not be rushed.
