Taiwan Head Brewers Brewing - Beginning of Spring

Taiwan Amber Ale with Dry Smoked Lychee. “Lichun” means the beginning of spring and is the first solar term that also marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. Spring is now on the horizon, and it is time to wake up from hibernation to party! Tothem at THBBC, the smell from the burning firecrackers, incense, and caramel candies all remind them of the arrival of Chinese New Year. To capture these flavors, they brewed “Lichun”with a high ratio of caramel malt and smoked lychee from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Unlike other typical lychee fruit beer overloaded with lychee flavors, Lichun is a mellow and calm amber ale with toffee, toasted firewood, and moderate fruity flavor.
