Sweet Dreams Are Made of Prunes is a Lichtenhainer-style beer made with plums and prunes, created by our brewer Rolf Lackner. One of Rolf's favourite beer styles, this smoky sour wheat beer was most popular in his native Germany in the 1800s. It's a true classic that Rolf has dreamed up in a plum finish, dressed up in a brand new, modern guise. The smokiness was achieved with oak-smoked malt, as described in the big book, then the base beer was soured and plums and prunes were added. Sour and smoky on the palate and refreshingly fruity on the nose, our batch is a dream for smoky wheat beer lovers, and those who haven't tried this style before will most likely fall in love with it, as it turned out amazingly good.
