In 1973, a new TV programme, Obviously Incredible, appeared on Soviet TV screens and remained on air for almost forty years. Apart from its undeniable advantages, such as the lulling voice of the host and the best samples of electronic music of the socialist camp in the screensavers, Obviously Improbable became an excellent populariser of science in society. Cosmonautics, medicine, electrodynamics, natural magnetism - whatever topics were discussed in the studio. And what is remarkable, the audience of the programme was more than 20 million people. It was from there that many people learnt about unusual light phenomena existing in nature, and about the same time in the photo albums of every self-respecting amateur photographer there appeared photocards with starry plume, because to hear or read it is one thing, but to see with your own eyes and shoot with your own hands is a completely different story. Unfortunately, now, in the era of global digital photography, it is not easy to shoot a star plume, but we can tell you what and how to do to feel involved in science.
