Beer description

Finland's oldest Christmas beer barley malt goes back to the title farm for the eleventh time. The 2018 KOFF Christmas Beer Barley comes from the farmer Petri Arovuori in Oit Hausjärvi. The Christmas beer was first launched in 1987. Like its predecessors, the KOFF Christmas beer is a golden brown, soft and full-bodied Viennese lager. Dark roasted barley malt and Saaz hops guarantee the right Christmas taste. The Christmas beer farmer was again selected from the contract farmers for malting barley, which were tested by the Viking Malt malting plant. In this way, the distance of the brewing barley from the field to the table can be tracked. The Harbinger barley from Petri Arovuore, a family farm on Lake Oit in Hausjärvi, met all the requirements that Sinebrychoff made in cooperation with the BSAG (Baltic Sea Action Group) and Viking Malt. “Last summer was rainy, but growing conditions were better than this year's heat. I myself am a beer lover and after all, it is really great that the barley root of the Christmas beer field looks for a good screen. Our farm has always taken all environmental aspects into account, ”says Petri Arovuori. Arovuori is a farm with 200 hectares of barley malt and the main plant on the farm. The farm also cultivates, for example. Caraway seed. Petri Arovuori has been running the farm for 17 years, but the family has owned the farm for over 100 years. The production of Sinebrychoff beer depends on natural ingredients: pure water and Finnish barley malt. Sinebrychoff has been working with the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) since 2014 and is committed to the well-being of the Baltic Sea. KOFF Christmas Beer is a product approved by the BSAG and a Baltic friendly neighborhood beer. "Our commitment is to improve water efficiency, extract carbon from beer production and include the Baltic Sea perspective in space tests, which are also carried out by our provider Viking Malt, who is committed to the Baltic Sea," said Tapio Kangas-Heiska, chief brewer of Sinebrychoff. Sinebrychoff is committed to the Carlsberg Group's “Together Towards Zero” sustainability program. cut water consumption in half and significantly reduce the carbon footprint by 2030.
