Bottom fermented
Fermentation
Beer description
A beer with the courage to be simple with brewing water from the Swabian-Franconian forest.
Some say it is the most difficult beer style of all because brewing errors can be noticed immediately. The origins of the classic bottom-fermented pale beer lie in Bavaria, where, due to the very hard water, virtually no hoppy beers were brewed. Instead, dark beers with an emphasis on malt were brewed. However, in response to the increasingly popular northern Pilsen beers, Bavarian brewers were soon brewing pale beers too - just with fewer hops. The Bavarian Hell was born, which inspired us to create our SCHWÄBISCH-FRÄNKISCH HELL - spiked with a little Swabian spice. We dedicate this beer specialty to the Swabian-Franconian forest, from whose springs around Murrhardt we obtain our brewing water.
Straightforward, pithy malt aromas are combined with a pleasantly tangy character to create a classic, light taste experience with a mild finish. For the tradition-conscious connoisseur.
