Altbier is a traditional German beer style that is passionately debated, especially along the Rhine. While Kölsch is highly celebrated in Cologne, Altbier is the traditional beer in Düsseldorf. Both beer styles have in common that they are fermented with top-fermenting yeast. Altbier is a copper-colored beer with a lovely bitterness that deserves to be brewed and enjoyed as a special treat.
