Beer description
The first Ringnes beer was brewed on 28 November 1877, barely a year after brothers Amund and Ellef Ringnes founded the brewery with Axel Heiberg. The Ringnes & Co brewery was committed to innovation and scientific curiosity and was an early adopter of its own pure yeast, the basis for a consistent and good beer. Ringnes & Co Brewery was among the first in Norway to use the telephone as a sales medium, have electric lighting at the brewery, its own company doctor and laboratory. In 2012, Ringnes LITE Gluten Free was developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Coeliac Association. Ringnes LITE Fatøl is a gluten-free dark lager with 70% fewer carbohydrates and 30% fewer calories than regular lager.
