Ratsherrn - Hamburger Senatsbock 2018

Bock beer time - that was the name of the almost forgotten fifth season in the 1950s, when Hamburg's breweries jointly brewed their Doppelbock. In 2018 it is a little different: For the first time, the Senatsbock was not brewed together by all five breweries in one brew kettle, but in three variants in the various breweries. The 3 Senatsbock variants in 2018 are: the classic version, as it has been brewed in recent years, by the trio around Blockbräu, Joh. Albrecht and Gröninger, the Franzbrötchen version from the Kehrwieder Kreativbrauerei and this version chocolate meets vanilla from the Councilor Brewery. By maturing on wooden chips, the Councilor Senatsbock was given wonderful aromas of vanilla, which in turn goes well with the dark roasted notes.
