Beer description
The style (barley wine) is to beer what brandy is to liquor or Pinot Noir to wine. It is a style of strong beer, very rich in malt, received with the same respect as great wines due to its complexity.
To make a Prost Barley Wine special melanoidine malt is used, with a handmade mixture of caramel malt and toasted malt, which contribute to the caramelized aroma and give it a dark reddish color.
Due to the use of a special yeast with a high degree of fermentation and wine yeast strains, an alcohol content of 9.5% is obtained. This beer is refined by light hopping with a maximum of 20 bitter units.
The long maturation with oak staves extracted from wine barrels, gives an aroma of red fruits and wood as in a wine of the highest quality.
