Historically, doppelbock was "liquid bread" for monks during times of fasting when they weren’t permitted to eat solid food, and understandably, the original brewers of this style named their beer "Salvator" which is Latin for "Savior". While we’re not under the same strict dietary restrictions as those monks, we still love a good doppelbock. It pours dark with a creamy head which gives way to a malty, toasty aroma. The flavour is a full-bodied, malty sweetness that goes well with a big meal. While this beer may not be your savior, it might help you become a procrastinator for an evening
