Pohjala ( Pöhjala ) - Triple Barrel (Cellar Series)

An intense barley wine that has matured in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels. The beer has many sides, many facets: In the smell, notes of vanilla, dried fruits and wood as well as a little caramel dominate. The taste is of course strongly malty, with aromas such as rye bread, nuts, honey and dark caramel. The taste is rounded off by notes of sweet vanilla, smoke, spices and dark berries. The texture is wonderful and keeps the drinking flow very high with a whopping 13% alcohol. Triple Barrel is a blend of a Barley Wine that has matured in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels for 24 months and a small portion of Rye Ale that has matured in rye whiskey barrels for 15 months.
