Villacher Brauerei - Märzen

The Piestinger Lager was brewed in the Villacher Brewery from 2005, after being acquired by the United Carinthian Breweries, until 2022. So it basically also passed into the hands of Brau Union, as Villacher is part of it. Until then, the Piestinger Brewery in Markt Piesting was a popular private brewery, highly regarded for its beer specialties. After Villacher itself ran into financial difficulties, the Piestinger brand was ultimately discontinued. The bottling of bottles was stopped. Until recently, there were still a few pubs, mainly in Vienna, that sold Piestinger beer on tap under this name - including the Gastwirtschaft Durchhaus in the 8th district. However, the beer is now actually no longer available. Villacher is currently undergoing major restructuring [2024], and some beer specialties are expected to return. Perhaps even the Piestinger...
