Beer description
Pecked to Pieces is a Coffee Black Ipa brewed with good friends from Szynkarnia - local food & multitap, with whom we have brewed more than one beer. Ba! This is not the first Black Ipa. This one too, just like the previous ones, is unique. We quickly skim through the hopping - a base of pilsner malt, a drip of rye and oat malt and Carafa Special III for colour. Things get more interesting when it comes to hopping. FLEX is responsible for the bitterness (medium-high) and the aroma in the hot phase is YCH 702 Citra, about which I will write you more next week. In the cold, the enormity of Nelson Sauvin and a splash of my favourite Styrian Wolf. In addition, we infused the beer with coffee - not an unbelievable amount. The coffee was provided by the equally good friends at HAYB Speciality Coffee 🙂 As I've managed to point out, you can't tell this coffee is from Kenya. If you're at least a little deeper into speciality coffee, you know that you have to say Kenya 😉 Well, and this Kenya (terribly expensive nibble, by the way) added a huge amount of forest fruits in the aroma and flavour of the beer, like blueberries, raspberries. Of course, there is also a drip of chocolate, but the aroma and taste of typical "coffee" are almost non-existent. I am shocked that they managed to extract such wonders from it. In fact, this is the first time I've witnessed that.... Keniuszka 😉 has given away such cool stuff. I usually approached the subject of these fifarafa coffees with detachment.
To sum up. You get a 17blg / 7% alcohol Black Ipa with citrus, oil, dark fruit aromas, ultra drinkable with a cool and solid bitterness.
