Beer description
“Don't you have anything to eat here? I want pizza!” says the new ‘Italian Pilsner Pizza Style’. This creation was designed and brewed together with “Lieber Waldi” and the “Craft Beer Corner” from Cologne.
The base is a crisp, fresh, lean Pilsner beer, mainly Saazer, some Mittelfrüh and Saphir. Then, at the end of the boiling process, classic pizza spices were added to the beer. It's all in the mix - it contains mainly oregano, a little thyme, basil, chilli flakes, garlic flakes and perhaps a little more.
Italian Pilsner is classically a hoppy, clear lager style that was developed in Italy and is based on the classic German pilsner tradition. In contrast to German pilsners, it is often strongly dry-hopped, which ensures a distinct, aromatic hop profile with notes of herbs and flowers. The result is a crisp, bitter, yet light and refreshing beer with an elegant, dry finish and, in this case, a “real Italian pizza twist”
