Ørbæk Bryggeri (Orbaek) - Ølsch

The Funen Championship in the light category in hand brewing 2021 was won by Jens Christian Gam-Hadberg with his version of the German beer style Kölsch. The prize was to brew the beer at Ørbæk Brewery, and it has now become the beer Ørbæk Ølsch. The Kölsch style comes from the Cologne area and is a pilsner/ale hybrid with pale malts like a pilsner but brewed with ale yeast. The result is a fresh, easy-drinking beer with notes of banana and clove from the yeast and floral and fruity notes from the German Hersbrucker hops. Best enjoyed with: German sausage, grilled chicken, fish and seafood dishes.
