Albrecht Vaclav Eusebius of Wallenstein came from a poor branch of the Wallenstein family. During the Czech uprising, he switched to the Habsburgs under scandalous circumstances and thus earned the right to the highest rewards. The emperor granted him the title of Duke of Frýdlant and entrusted him with the command of his army. Albrecht of Wallenstein was strongly committed to the development of the East Bohemian region.
