Beer description

As part of our ongoing collaboration with the Harewood Food & Drink Project, this is our fourth annual wet hop beer - using British hops grown less than 10km away in the beautiful walled gardens and within hours of harvest by the Northern Monk team is brewed on our annual hop-picking day. Because of this low-intrusion brewing process, wet hop beers can only be brewed once a year as the cones are used fresh and not dried or processed. So we made the most of this opportunity by pairing it with a foolproof 6.7% oat-heavy malt blend and one of our favorite yeasts, London Fog, to make it smooth and succulent for a modern New England-style Green Hop IPA to keep. Fresh Ernest hops, a new British favourite, provide the necessary spice, while overseas Amarillo provides a crisp, zesty finish. Together they deliver a smooth, grassy profile with hints of quintessentially British Elderflower aroma, leading to apricot, orange oil, and blackberry.
