When travelling, the reformer Martin Luther often had to drink beer that did not deserve the name. When he once again had to drink such a nasty brew, he wrote to his wife Katharina von Bora, who was an excellent brewer herself: "Yesterday I had a bad drink." He asked her to "send him a pint of her beer as often as she can". In honour of this travel beer, we have named our reformer's drink Pfoschenbier.
