With "Louis Barre Imperial", the Barre private brewery is reviving the legend of Louis Barre: a bouquet lager in honor of a great pioneer in the development of bottom-fermented lager beers. More than 130 years ago, Louis Barre developed an exquisite bottom-fermented lager with exceptional quality and durability using innovative manufacturing processes. At that time, he was able to bring the exclusive Barre beer with horse-drawn carriages and by train on the long, arduous journey from his native Lübbecke to Bremerhaven. From there, the beer accompanied people on the legendary luxury liners of North German Lloyd out into the wide world. "Louis Barre Imperial" continues this tradition: A beer brewed according to a historical recipe with selected types of malt and hopped several times. It owes its unique bouquet to the exclusive "Saphir" hop variety and six weeks of cold aging in the spirit of the namesake. So "Louis Barre Imperial" still meets the highest standards of beer enjoyment today.
