Lervig Aktiebryggeri Paragon Barley Wine Ale 2018

Our barley wine is the most specific beer we produce and is produced only once a year. It is a mixture of different bourbon barrels that have spent more than a year in wood. We mix the different barrels and add a little freshly brewed barley wine to get the best possible version. This year, the barley wine was brewed in a double-boiler technique, where we evaporate the beer to a high sugar concentration, add water to the wort and then boil it back to increase the Maillard reaction processes and build an intense caramelization. We have treated the hops with care, so that the malt and bourbon properties from the barrels become the champions of this beer.
