In the traditional brewhouse, the Granitbock is fermented in open granite grinders and caramelised with glowing granite stones before disappearing into the storage cellar to mature and rest for six months. The granite bock is then frozen out to become the legendary Eisbock. This also concentrates the flavour in the beer, resulting in an overwhelming play of dark malt aromas.
Since we have a surprise every Christmas, this year we have refined the mighty Granit EIS Bock with gingerbread spice into a winter edition. As you would expect from the frozen Granit Bock, it beguiles with a deep red colour and a fine-pored head. The smokiness of a chimney fire and the scent of freshly baked gingerbread are on the nose. On the palate, the taste of gingerbread intensifies and combines with toasty caramel flavours. The finish is long-lasting, pleasantly alcoholic with a pleasantly fresh spiciness.
Perfectly rounded off with a fresh gingerbread in front of the fireplace, this beer is a great way to enjoy the cold winter days!
