Orpheus Gruit is a herb beer modeled after the historic Gruit beers. It was brewed with the Bulgarian Pivovoarna rhombus. The first German-Bulgarian Collaboration Brew. The herbal mixture used contains sage, juniper, mint, lemon balm and thyme. Markus Fohr, brewing master in the Lahnsteiner brewery, describes his beer like this: Honeygolden Orpheus Gruit shimmers through the slight but even turbidity of the beer. On top, a subtle, white foam with voluminous pores builds up. The nose senses a concert of fine malty sweetness and the individual herbs - depending on the stanza, sometimes one or the other pushes to the fore. This is what happens to the tongue after the first gentle tingle. In the departure, another component joins in - the hop bitter. Exciting and harmonious!
