Beer description

Sinebrychoff Porter is a dark, almost black, unfiltered beer brewed with surface yeast, with a malty roastiness in the aroma. It is brewed using four different malts: pilsner, Munich, colour and brown. These give the beer its characteristic aromas of roast, chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Porter is heavily hopped with Saazer and bittering hops. Refrigerated, Porter's flavour leaves many subtle nuances undiscovered. Therefore, the only correct serving temperature is cool room temperature. Port was already being made at Sinebrychoff in the 1860s, albeit in relatively small quantities and mainly during the winter months. Porter has been produced continuously at Sinebrychoff since 1957. It was initially marketed as Imperial Stout. Porter was developed by brewmasters Boris Orlo and Nils Sandman and laboratory manager Aarne Rahiala. According to legend, the yeast is the same as that used to make Guinness. It comes from the Park Royal brewery in London. Sinebrychoff Porter is an award-winning beer. In 2000, the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago selected it as one of the best imported beers in the USA. In the world's most prestigious beer competition, The Brewing Industry International Awards, Porter has won silver twice, in 1998 and 2002. In Finland, Porter has been listed several times as "Beer of the Year". Michael Jackson, the late renowned beer expert, nominated Sinebrychoff Porter and Jouluolue as the only Finns in the world's top 500.

Sehr dunkel im Glas. Langanhaltende Schaumkrone. Kräftig malzig mit Röstaromen im Geschmack.
