Beer description
What does it even mean ?
The world wouldn’t be what it is without the humble porter. And we don’t mean the beer, we mean the profession. How would we have ever tasted tea, without the ship porters of the 17th century? How many backs would’ve been strained lugging suitcases up flights of stairs, without hotel porters? How high would the pile of dishes be, without kitchen porters? And what would we have done without history’s most famous porter: Father Christmas? Heaven forbid. So whether you’re sitting beside your logfire in the country this winter, or stuck in the city, cocooned in a vintage ski suit, with only the Youtube video of crackling fireplace to keep you festive, spare a thought for all the porters in history, who sacrificed so much to make your life so comfortable.
What you need to know though
Christmas Porter 5.5%. Golden Promise base with chocolate, brown, crystal and Carafa malts. East Kent Goldings in the boil for a background hop bitterness. Dark brown colour, with a ruby red hint in the light. Aromas of brown sugar, chocolate, caramel and coffee. Medium roasted bitterness and body with a subtle sweet linger.
