Long ago, when the trees were big, the phrase "imperial stout" did not evoke a sense of impending sugar coma, but rather the opposite - the imperials of that fertile era were characterised by an extremely dry temperament, uncompromising strength, and a distinct profile that sparkled with notes of burnt malts, creosote, chocolate and coffee. It was a golden time!? But then something went wrong and imperial stouts started gaining more and more luscious sweetness. That's not to say it's a bad thing, but every now and then the creamy lightness of a sip of those imperials comes to mind. But don't despair, we have brewed Into The Shadow, an imperial stout "just like it used to be" especially for you nostalgic and longing ones! Welcome to the shadow, mates! ?
