Prince Bishop Veit Adam had a new brewery built in 1620 in parts of what's now known as the Cathedral High School. During the secularization in 1803, the Hofbrauhaus went from the church to the state of Bavaria. In 1860 the brewmaster of the Hofbrauhaus, Karl Stiegler, brews the "Freisinger wheat" for the first time, which later renamed "Huber Weisses". Hazy lemon-orange with a huge thick creamy rocky head. Condition is much lower than most bottled white beer. Big fruity banana nose with yeasts and phenols. More banana in the mouth along with a pleasing fruity esteriness. Finish is soft sweet and chalky. From the same town as Weihenstephaner and almost as good as its bigger neighbor
