As one of two new experimental hop strains to come from New Zealand’s Plant and Food Research hub, Hort 4337 is currently being featured in large scale brewing trials across the globe. With generous tropical notes, fresh passionfruit and a good lick of citrus on offer, It’s no wonder PL agreed to champion the varietal in this brand new specialty IPA. While the abbreviation hort stands for horticulture, the numerical suffix 4337 is the hop’s working title. Our suggestions for something a little more permanent include ‘Horty boy’ and ‘Hort so good’.
