Beer description
Swiekes “EXTRA 5.5” is the answer to the question: “Swiekes Tripppel is a super tasty beer, but a heavy one. If only it were a bit lighter in alcohol and still just as tasty. Can you brew something like that?”
The recipe of our award-winning Swiekes Tripppel was used as a rough basis, with a few twists as you are used to from Swiekes by now. In addition, this time we let an army of Berlin pilsner yeasts run wild, resulting in a fruity and ester-rich lager beer of 5.5% ABV.
For extra flavour, it was lightly dry-hopped with citrus hops and we also chose to give it a secondary fermentation in the bottle.
You can classify it as a “hoppy lager” or “Indian Pale Lager”, we simply call it a tasty, fruity and lightly hopped 'pilsner'.
Peter, our 'new born', is Filip and that is why he is wearing his first communion pants on the label.
In the fall of 2023, brewed for the first time on a 10 hL scale to test the market. Soon also on a larger scale, also available in barrels to conquer (a small part of) the world in the spring of 2024.
