At the end of a long day, when you've been staring at the screen for so long that the numbers are blurring before your eyes, Bitter Ale finds a way to relax you. A smoothly sliding, strongly hopped, top-fermented Pale Ale.
Bitter Ale is a transition between lightly hopped Pale Ales, which are usually tapped young, and long-aged, often higher-alcohol, heavily hopped and bitter IPAs.
The body of the beer is made robust by Maris Otter Ale malt, supplemented with Munich malt and refined with a touch of wheat malt. And the "bitterness" comes from a generous dose of Hallertauer Magnum and American Centennial hops. The "i" is completed by the Centennial, which is added during the cold hopping process.
