Beer brewing has a strong tradition in the Bregenz Forest. 100 years ago there were still 74 breweries in Vorarlberg, 33 of them in Bregenzerwald. The forests Zwickl is brewed by hand and not short-term heated. This retains the original taste. The forests Zwickl is unfiltered, yeast cloudy and copper-colored. Light roasted aromas and a fine bitterness keep the balance. When pouring the brewer's yeast with swing out. After the Second World War, beer slowly found its way into households and supplanted the homemade cider. The environment changed, there were hardly any small breweries and the bigger ones joined together. That forced the brewery Egg to invest. Wooden barrels were replaced by modern aluminum tanks and a new brewhouse was built. This was the beginning of an ongoing investment activity, which paid off for the Egger brewery in the long term. Of the over 30 breweries in the Bregenzerwald, the brewery in Egg is the only one that has saved old brewing craft to the present day. The Bregenzerwald handicraft has acquired design competence for centuries. Legendary are the Auer courses, where education and self-education were already program. Known throughout Europe are the Baroque churches and monasteries built by the Auer architects. A sophisticated building and home decor is obvious to anyone who is traveling in the Bregenz Forest. The handling of materials and resources is at a high level, seen in many homes and buildings, with their carefully crafted details. It is obvious that there is a sense for shapes and proportions, both traditional and modern. Making things as good as possible is a broad claim that comes from a living craftsmanship tradition. Today it is the craft that has made a name for itself beyond the borders with shapely and functional products. The openness and brightness, a careful use of the local building material wood and a young architectural scene bring new qualities to the alpine landscape.

Schön malziges Zwickl. Klar, leicht, bisschen Vanille.
