Beer description
Christmas time would not be the same without this specialty beer, the arrival of which is always eagerly awaited. The tradition of Christmas beers is particularly pronounced in Northern Europe. In the years after the Second World War, the breweries sold an original, richer and stronger beer at the same price as the year-round beers: that was their gift to their customers. The Duycks have kept this custom and created a special beer at the usual price. It is made with more malt than the Jenlain Ambrée (3 different types of malt from French barley and 3 types of the most aromatic hops from Alsace). This top-fermented, unpasteurized beer, which is best served at a temperature between 6 and 8 ° C, has a strong amber tone, a thicker head and a higher alcohol content (6.8% vol). It's darker than the traditional amber beer, and with its torrefied undertones is reminiscent of flowers and caramel. And the 2002 Christmas beer had a hint of orange.
