Beer description
The dark beer style called Stout was until recently considered a group of the Porter style that was the most popular beer in the 18th and 19th centuries in London. Its name is related to London port workers who liked to mix Ale with other beers to get a very dark drink, with a stronger flavor and quite alcoholic. It was a long-matured beer, which required large barrels for storage. It was also George Washington's favorite beer, which he brewed for his own consumption.
