King's Blockhouse is Devil's Peak's most popular India Pale Ale and in a sense their flagship. The crisp beer is also a real golden boy: King's Blockhouse caused a stir in national and international competitions and won countless prizes with its hoppy character and skilfully used bitterness. The captivating variety of intense hop notes is created during the dry hopping process. In the glass, the winning beer shows itself in the right shade of gold. A steadfast crown of white foam sits enthroned on the shiny, almost clear body, exuding an abundance of intensive hop notes. The symphony of passion fruit and citrusy, floral and resinous hints is thanks to the use of American aroma hops. In terms of taste, the olfactory first impression is laid down one to one and inspires again with passion fruit, citrus fruits, floral hops and spicy pine resin. The malt remains discreetly in the background, but acts as a supporting force and forms a soft basis for the hop fireworks. In addition, the malt balances out the not to be scoffed at hop bitterness, which builds from the first sip and culminates in a crisp, bitter, dry finish.
