Beer description
This barrel-aged beer represents a collaboration between tradition and innovation. A place where monks meet punks. Brewed and barrel-aged within the walls of Abbey Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven in autumn 2020. The name stems from both breweries' desire to leave the world better than they found it. Therefore, part of the proceeds will be donated to Made Blue. This is an initiative that makes clean drinking water available to everyone for whom it cannot be taken for granted. In this way, Made Blue's total donation can provide nearly five thousand people in developing countries with clean drinking water for ten years.
The barrel-aged Practise What You Preach was aged for nine months in Scotch Whisky casks. The beer has a dark copper colour with a fine and soft head, which remains present in the glass for a long time.
In the aroma, the influence of American hops is evident, the floral aromas are surprisingly well preserved during maturation. In the background, whisky also subtly reaches the nose.
The beer starts sweet and slowly turns spicy with a pleasant bitterness. The flavour is reminiscent of liquorice, with influences of Whisky, stone fruit, oak and vanilla. The beer has an alcohol-heavy finish with a gentle tingle in the throat.
