Cape Cod Tide Jewels

In Japanese mythology the Tide Jewels, ebb (kanju) & flow (manju), were magical gems that the Dragon God used to control the tide. The legend of Princess Tamatori is a tragic love story wherein the pearl diving princess lulls the Dragon God to sleep with music & reclaims her family treasure. Pursued by angry sea creatures she escapes with the jewels but loses her life in the process & is forever revered for her selfless act of sacrifice.
