It is a pumpkin ale and captures the spirit of the craft beers created by English colonists in 17th century America. Made with pumpkins from Castilla-La Mancha The star ingredient of this seasonal beer could not have any other origin. To make it, we use organic pumpkins collected very close to here, in our own region. That's why LA SAGRA Calabaza is only available during the fall months. Its recipe fuses, in addition to the best pumpkins in the area, 100% barley malt, hops, cinnamon, cloves and yeast . The quality and freshness of all its ingredients are the reason why LA SAGRA Calabaza is such a special premium beer. Sweet and spicy LA SAGRA Pumpkin has a characteristic autumn flavor capable of awakening all the senses. At first glance, it appears as a red-orange beer with a particularly dense and velvety body. The sense of smell can appreciate its intense, sweet and fruity aroma. In the mouth, the spicy notes of clove and cinnamon stand out. A recipe with history The first pumkin ale style beer was brewed in 1620 , with the arrival of the first English to the New World . Those explorers, eager to have a good beer but without barley malt nearby, found a perfect substitute in the pumpkin. It was easy to find and had a high sugar content for fermentation. Thus they found a new way of making beer that has survived over the years and has experienced a powerful resurgence with the rise of craft beer. The usual like never In 2015 we decided to rescue this traditional recipe to create LA SAGRA Calabaza, a premium beer designed to enjoy those classic autumn moments like never before.
