Beer description
The Burgdorf pub brewery honours the resourceful heating engineer Wilhelm Sommer (1893 - 1955) with a light summer ale.
The Burgdorf yearbook praises him as an ambitious craftsman "who worked his way up from humble beginnings with tenacious endeavour; he was a master of heating technology who never let his inventive spirit rest. In this way, he ensured the growing success of his installation and central heating business."
His legacy thus gave rise to F. + R. Sommer AG (later Fr. Sommer AG), which built up a great reputation in the field of central heating, oil firing and sanitary installations far beyond the region.
The bright golden ale has an aroma of lychee, peach and pineapple. The light first taste is followed by a surprisingly full-bodied flavour, whose subtle malty sweetness perfectly complements the citrusy aroma of the hops used. The bittersweet, refreshing aftertaste whets the appetite for the next sip.
