Budelse Brouwerij - IPA

The Budels IPA is golden blonde/amber. It's nice and clear and has a lot of carbon dioxide. The head is fine and white and sticks well to the glass. The beer is very malty on the nose. It doesn't have any pronounced hopping, which is what I expected from an IPA. I also smell caramel and a light fruitiness. In the distance I notice something of citrus fruits. The beer reminds me of a Belgian IPA (in hindsight, so was the style). The taste of caramel again. In addition, it is fruity and slightly bitter. I find it quite smooth on the palate and the beer has some grassiness and a slight spiciness to it. The caramel is what remains in the aftertaste.
