Beer description
The beer style designation Dark Indian Lager describes a beer that is bottom-fermented, significantly cold-hopped and dark due to the caramel malts used. The hops used were
Herkules and Polaris were used for bittering in order to counteract the pleasant residual sweetness of the caramel malts with 30 bittering units. Cascade and Polaris were used for whirlpool hopping and only Mosaic was used for dry hopping. The blend of these selected hop varieties gives the beer aromas of citrus fruits and herbs without masking the sweet caramel notes. The fermentation and yeast aroma is very subtle due to the bottom-fermenting yeast.
