Beer description
In the late 18th century, wine supplies in England became scarce due to military conflicts with France. People began brewing strong beers for their own consumption, which were aged in wooden barrels for up to a year, to replace the popular red wine. We are thankful, we are not forced to produce barleywines due to war with France. Also for this reason, we were able to age the Red Wine Barleywine to perfection for 4 years in Pinot Noir wood barrels and then blend.Hazelnut brown with reddish contours is how our new Barleywine comes across. The nose is captivating with a lush malt and grain note. After a slightly nutty, a sweet scent of freshly cracked fig to birnel slowly unfolds. The long wood barrel aging is what Barrique Blend Red Wine Barleywine owes its subtle roasted and red wine notes with a hint of light hazelnut chocolate. The finish is never-ending, leading the taste buds on a hop-bittered sweet yet also slightly tart journey.
